Trippy Quarter Note Triplets [Drum Lesson] (Last video for a while...)
Otherwise basic patterns split between the snare and kick become kinda trippy when phrased as quarter note triplets.
This will be my last video for an undetermined amount of time! I have some other things happening in life and need a break from the content grind. I'll be back!

Gobs of vocabulary from one SIMPLE pattern [Drum Lesson]
Переглядів 15 тис.Рік тому
RLLRLLRL. It's made up of 3 little pieces that can be shuffled around to generate other patterns. Slap 'em around the drums, sub the kick in place of the right hand sometimes, and BAM! You got a lot of vocab to sift through. Apply this approach to practically any other pattern and BAM! You got even more vocab to sift through. So good. Wow! Actually a lot simpler than I thought it'd be, especially if you get the feel.
Now try that on your floor tom 😮
What do you have on middle tom, is this a little gong ?
I completely understand the mechanics but one of the things I find hardest is identifying the unevenness, and then connecting that with the cause to fix it. I always assume that the second note will be the quieter, and work on making it louder to ‘even’ it up but there comes a point where I know I don’t sound the same as a professional but can’t quite figure out why…
This is the best explanation I've seen for the double stroke! And the initial exercise really helps to get the feeling. Thanks!
FonTOStic!
Frickin fantastic! Great work, lad!
Very well-thought out and useful lesson. Thank you!
What a wonderful man! I was all over the place until I heard this video. Thank you so much..... you da bomb.
That's the good stuff. They use this in a lot of those Gospelchop drumfills.
Thank you for this video. Been struggling with double strokes for decades until this vid. Helped perfectly
Prefect explanation dude, thanks a ton!!!
Bravely done 🫡. The little finger loomed large in Sanford E. Moeller’s description of the proper grip ..”..the (r) stick is held almost entirely with the little finger.. Plate No. 7.” Thank you for highlighting it’s utility in such a succinct description.
11:25 Is there a rudiment he's playing here?
WOW. I've been chasing the double stroke as a beginner for a while now but THIS video is the one that brought it all together for me. Those exercises are brilliant! Thank you so much.
Favorite cymbal brand or you just buy whatever sounds good?
Also cool to just ghost Yr left hand on the snare
This is gold
Starpowerdrummer also
Man, this video is the most informative on the topic that I've seen so far. Great job
OH MY GOD IT FINALLY MAKES SENSE
Very inspiring
Nice trainers
Cool
❤
Did anyone else have a problem with this tecnicue and have to take it very slow? My foot was so slow on the forward slide I could only do 60-70bpm. I feel like theres a part of the technique I'm missing.
Grate content thanks man!

This is awesome!
1:52 that's tooo real lol, I used to play like this until a friend told me that it was shit (thanks to him for being honest 😂) so now I'm training to really control it haha
we dont need the sarcasm asshole
You've basically tapped into the essentials of Gospel Chops ☝
Excellent video, thanks. What do you consider is the best tension spring if I’m a beginner and I want to develop this technique. Also what do you consider best for an entry level pedal: Iron cobra 200, DW 2000 or Pearl P930. I appreciate your opinion
DAMN YOU TACO BELL!!!
Thankyou for this video!!!!
Thank you a lot. You’re very kind to share such great knowledge.
This is really really nice. I like the Pridgen version including the ride. But that feels more advanced (like everything Pridgen is doing). Thanks for all the great videos you posted.
out of a lot of videos ive watched i think youre the only person so far whos actually described/shown how to grip and use the back 3 fingers to move the stick. everytime i watch videos on how to double stroke they just mention using your back 3 fingers but never go into detail how
Amen brother ❤
The best video describing the grip. Straight to the point.
